Professional background

I advise domestic and international clients in the industrial, commercial, manufacturing sectors on a full range of real estate matters, including commercial landlord and tenant work, with a focus on energy clients and or lenders in respect of onshore downstream assets for the processing and distribution of fuel (particularly pipelines)

My clients include BP, the British Pipelines Agency, British Oxygen Company, Interconnector UK Limited, Independent Oil and Gas Limited, Marchwood Power Limited and Total UK Limited, Perenco UK Limited, Macquarie Bank Limited

I advise on onshore conventional and unconventional oil and gas assets and infrastructure, including oilfields, oil wells, gas storage, fuel processing and distribution.

I also advise on the real estate aspects of large-scale pipeline installation, diversion and infrastructure crossing projects, including issues surrounding development clauses, compulsory rights and the various compensation regimes (e.g. advising affected operators on protective provisions agreements re all phases of HS2 and the Esso Fawley to Heathrow pipeline)

As well as leading teams instructed to advise on discrete real estate matters, I often work as part of large transactional teams providing specialist guidance on complex real estate aspects of significant deals which are frequently instrumental their success.

I am also a regular contributor to leading legal, energy, infrastructure and real estate publications discussing the implications of new legislation and the challenge of navigating often arcane, intricate rules relating to real estate law in England and Wales.
