Professional background

My experience includes advising Inquiry Chairs, Coroners and Core Participants, leading investigations and disclosure and planning for and managing public hearings.

I am currently acting as a Module Lead Solicitor on the Covid-19 Inquiry, which heard almost nine weeks of evidence in 2023/24. Part of that work included the successful defence of a high profile and complex judicial review by the Cabinet Office, which challenged the Inquiry Chair's decision to compel the production to her of unredacted WhatsApp communications.

I am also acting as Solicitor to the Jalal Uddin Inquiry, which has just concluded its oral hearings and Solicitor to the Inquest into the death of a 16 year old girl who had been charged with terrorism offences. The inquest will be heard in 2025.

I have previously been appointed Assistant Solicitor to the Chair of the Manchester Arena Inquiry and supported the Coroner on the Inquests arising from the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans at Hillsborough on 15 April 1989. Both cases of significant public importance involved large scale disclosure exercises, which I led, and called evidence over many months.

My Inquiries practice has included work for the BBC in relation to the Pollard Review, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) and for a Core Participant to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

Prior to the above, I acted on behalf of regulatory bodies to investigate and prepare fitness to practise cases involving allegations of incompetence, misconduct (including fraud and criminal offences) and dishonesty. I have also advised the police in respect of criminal prosecutions for gross negligence manslaughter and corporate manslaughter.

I am proud to have been included in the Chambers and Partners 2024 legal directory as an "Associate to watch" and the 2025 guide as a ''Star Associate''.
