Professional background
I have over 25 years' experience in helping employers and scheme trustees navigate complex pension issues over the whole lifecycle of a scheme, from set up to buy out, including restructurings, scheme mergers, corporate transactions, section 75 debt risks, scheme funding structures and PPF assessment periods.
Where court proceedings become necessary, I have extensive experience in managing adversarial litigation and applications for directions and rectification of scheme rules, including a strong reputation for advising representative beneficiaries. Many of my cases have involved complex issues or novel points of law and consequently have been cited in the leading law reports. Reported cases in which I have acted include Gleeds v Briggs, KeyMed v Hillman (Olympus) and Hogg Robinson v Harvey.
