Professional background

I have experience of working on a range of commercial disputes in the High Court that are often high value and multi-jurisdictional. I have acted for clients in a variety of different sectors, from Energy and Natural Resources to Financial Services, as well as for individuals.

I have a particular interest in Fraud, Financial Crime and Investigations and have experience of assisting with cases on both the civil and criminal side. I have particular experience of working on complex investigations involving allegations of fraud and false accounting, often with an international dimension, and one such investigation was with a view to bringing a private prosecution against various individuals. In addition to investigations, I have represented an individual convicted of fraud and money laundering in his application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission for his case to be remitted to the Court of Appeal

I have considerable experience of advising on compliance matters, including reviewing a client's counter-party due diligence procedures, specifically their counter-party compliance clauses, and advising a client on the risks posed in dealing with individuals potentially subject to sanctions and how to mitigate those risks.

I speak fluent French and have spent a year living in Paris.
