Status of the processing of the Draft Bill on Medicines and Health Products
More than a month has passed since the deadline for submitting comments on the eagerly awaited Draft Bill on Medicines and Health Products, which had to be extended from 30 April to 8 May due to the high volume of contributions received by the Ministry of Health.
Once all the contributions have been analysed, the final draft must be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval before being sent to the Congress of Deputies for parliamentary debate. Once this lengthy process has been completed, we will see to what extent the final text differs from the draft that was published.
Integrated Medicines Policy Plan (PIPMED) in Catalonia
The Department of Health of the Regional Government of Catalonia, promoted by the Medicines Division of the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), has been working on a Comprehensive Medicines Policy Plan (PIPMED). This plan was presented in June at a conference where the results of the participatory process carried out to develop the Plan were announced, the strategic lines were presented, and the difficulties and solutions for improving the use of medicines were discussed.
The objective of the PIPMED is to address current and future challenges in relation to the rational, safe, effective and sustainable use of medicines.
