Fieldfisher is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the UK Impact Case of the Year at the Managing IP Awards for our exceptional work taking Sky v SkyKick case to the UK Supreme Court.
Our team was recognised for its exceptional work in the landmark Sky v SkyKick, where we represented SkyKick in its appeal to the UK Supreme Court. This long-running dispute has been one of the most significant pieces of trade mark litigation during the last decade and the first time the Supreme Court had been asked to consider what it means to register trade marks in bad faith. The Fieldfisher team involved in the case included Christopher Leung, Natasha Rao, Samantha-Jayne Millington and Mikhail Popov.
The Managing IP Awards are one of the most comprehensive and widely respected awards events in the IP field. This year the firm was shortlisted for an impressive five team awards, while Christopher Leung was also shortlisted for Rising Star of the Year.
The firm's Intellectual Property team continues to grow and strengthen. We recently welcomed Victoria Bentley as a partner in the UK team, celebrated the return of Thierry van Innis as Of Counsel in Brussels in November and expanded our Berlin office with a four-member IP team last year. The team is also instructed in the groundbreaking Getty Images v Stability AI case, which was listed in The Lawyer's Top 20 Cases of 2025, highlighting the pivotal role the firm is playing in shaping the future of IP law, particularly in relation to emerging technologies.
Hastings Guise, Head of IP at Fieldfisher, commented: "Winning the UK Impact Case of the Year is a testament to the hard work, innovation and technical excellence of our entire team. We are proud of our achievements and look forward to continuing to deliver outstanding results for our clients."
Congratulations to everyone involved!
