My practice focuses on a broad swathe of EU product regulatory matters involving everything from chemicals (REACH, biocides, pesticides, and CLP) through to detergents, cosmetics, toys, packaging, plastics, WEEE/RoHS, waste, water law, and ecocide. This broad expertise has more recently naturally filtered into advising companies and trade associations on supply chain and sustainability reporting coming from such laws as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR), and the anticipated Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
The specific type of advice includes general compliance advice, strategic advice on anticipated legislative changes, and risk/crisis advice on product liability and product recall issues. I also advise on contentious matters, and have represented many clients in legal/quasi-legal proceedings before the European Courts, European Agencies, and national courts.
I also speak regularly at international conferences on ESG, chemicals and product compliance matters.
I am ranked individually and as part of the wider Fieldfisher Band 1 EU Regulatory group by Chambers and Legal 500, and recommended by clients as "a highly capable and talented lawyer who brings humility, pragmatism and common sense to any issue."
My bar admissions include the roll of solicitors in Ireland, the Brussels Bar (A-list), and the Law Society of England and Wales (non-practising).
I am fluent in English and French.
