I have more than 30 years' experience of all aspects of commercial property work, particularly complex and structured transactions which have a property or property finance focus.

I have been involved in a number of significant real estate transactions, including acquisition and disposal of major real estate assets for investment clients, both on a direct and "wrapper" basis, acquisition and development of space for various end users, development projects and the creation of various finance-driven structures involving property.

I have particular experience in advising inward investor clients investing in a number of sectors including City office, logistics/industrial, data centres, hotels, student, residential and healthcare, including advising a number of US private equity real estate and REIT clients on the acquisition, financing and subsequent disposal of an industrial development site at an airport, the acquisition, development and disposal of a portfolio of PBSA assets and on the purchase of portfolio of operational nursing homes on a "propco" basis and a number of forward purchases of a pipeline of nursing homes in development.

I have found that a strong understanding of the local market is as important as a deep knowledge of real estate law in guiding off-shore clients through a complex transaction in a jurisdiction which is not their own.

I also have experience in the real estate aspects of insolvencies, acting predominantly for administrators, LPA receivers and liquidators in the realisation of various property assets.
