Professional background

Professional background

I have led numerous multi-billion dollar international arbitrations and related litigation across the globe, including test cases in the English courts.

I have experience of both investor-state and commercial international arbitrations and have advised clients on their business losses flowing from significant disasters including Russia's invasion of Ukraine 2014 and 2022/23, 9/11, the Asian Tsunami 2004, Japanese Tsunami 2011 and Thai Floods 2011.

Currently, I am focused on advising investors and states on how best to resolve their disputes and mitigate risks through a mix of contractual and off-balance sheet mechanisms, including investment treaties, insurance and self-retention.

I am ranked in all major guides for International Arbitration.
