Professional background

I have particular expertise in IT and business process outsourcing and digital transformation projects and have advised on a number of complex and groundbreaking projects including the UK Government's £4.5bn National Identity Scheme, a transformational IT outsourcing involving a tier 1 Technology services provider and Lloyds Banking Group and a £660m second-generation business process outsourcing for NS&I. My team has also won a number of awards for advice in the IT and Technology sector including “TMT firm of the year”.

I am ranked as a leader in my field in Chambers and have been a named legal expert in legal directories such as Legal 500, Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers, who say I am 'second to none', 'a trusted and valued adviser' and 'a joy to work with'.  They also say I have a "responsive and open approach" and that clients have the "ultimate confidence in his advice and support, and would recommend him to others".

I'm a specialist in IT law, Intellectual Property Rights, Data Protection and Privacy, Cloud computing, SaaS, OSS, Internet and e-commerce law, AdTech, Digital transformation, and procurement projects. I also advise on innovative technologies like distributed ledger technology, AI and machine learning and the licensing and exploitation of digital data and databases.
