Fieldfisher continues its strategic growth by welcoming Denis Barat as a Partner in the Corporate department in Paris, alongside Philippe Netto, Christopher Mesnooh, Pascal Squercioni, and Jean-Baptiste Van de Voorde.

Denis Barat is widely regarded as an expert in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate finance. He brings extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex transactions for both strategic and financial investors

I am delighted to join Fieldfisher and contribute to the growth of a Corporate team that is already well-established in the market. The diversity of expertise within the Paris office, the firm’s presence in key jurisdictions, and its collaborative culture provide a strong foundation to build and strengthen relationships with globally active clients," comments Denis Barat.

A strategic addition to the Corporate practice

Denis regularly advises on industrial M&A transactions, particularly in the agri-food, retail, chemical, and manufacturing sectors. He has developed strong expertise in managing multi-jurisdictional matters, including industrial carve-outs and restructuring projects. He is also frequently involved in joint ventures, most often in an international context.

Denis’s arrival reflects our ambition to consolidate our position in the market for complex Corporate transactions. His international and sector-specific experience enhances our offering and reinforces synergies between our teams in Paris and across the Fieldfisher network. " adds Bruno Paccioni, Managing Partner of the Paris office.

A continued growth dynamic

Fieldfisher France continues to expand with a team of over 70 lawyers, including now 23 partners. Over the past four years, the firm has strengthened its expertise with the arrivals of Aurélien Jugard (Finance – June 2024), Marguerite Brac de La Perrière (Tech & Data and Digital Health– August 2023), Lucile Meriguet (promoted in Restructuring/Commercial Litigation – May 2023), and Julia Mohamed (Employment – July 2022). Denis Barat’s arrival illustrates the firm’s ambition to surround itself with experienced professionals to meet its clients’ strategic challenges.
