I have 20 years of experience advising clients in the construction, engineering and support services sectors.
My particular specialism is managing cases for contractors and employers through the formal dispute processes of adjudication, litigation and arbitration, including a numerous complex multi-party disputes in the Technology and Construction Court.
I work with clients to find cost-effective, quick and collaborative solutions, maintaining and building commercial relationships outside formal dispute processes.
I also possess deep knowledge of insurance issues associated with the construction sector and have written a chapter for Hogarth's Insurance Law for the Construction Industry.
I recognise that effective dispute resolution relies on building relationships with key stakeholders and opponents to find solutions that balance what often appear at the outset to be irreconcilable interests.
Resolving disputes associated with complex PFI projects has involved me working in the defence, health and education sectors. I also have extensive construction experience in infrastructure, rail, industrial and distribution facilities, flood risk management and process engineering.
I am a regular speaker on construction law topics and was a panel member at the 2017 Construction Law Conference with Paul Reed QC. I was also invited to speak at the 2019 Construction Law Summer School in Cambridge.
In my spare time, I am a keen runner.
