Professional background

My main areas of practice
A particular focus is on data protection advice for regulated industries such as financial services, the healthcare sector, telecommunications, online platforms and new technologies.

I have extensive experience as an external Data Protection Officer and in providing ongoing compliance advice as well as project support and handling individual enquiries for US, Asian and European clients.

I represent in proceedings with data protection supervisory authorities. My clients appreciate my pragmatic support when it comes to the implementation of the GDPR, sector-specific requirements, compliance programmes, international data transfers, cybersecurity, data protection incident reporting, the development of data-based products, employee data protection, direct marketing, data protection impact assessments and contract negotiations.

I regularly advise on the overlap with other regulatory areas such as consumer protection, telecommunications law, media regulation and online youth protection.

My clients include consumer electronics manufacturers, social networks, online payment providers, cloud providers, medical device manufacturers, platform operators and international technology companies.

I advise my clients in German and English.

Personal engagement
I am a seasoned external Data Protection Officer (DPO) and have worked in academia and at the Federal Ministry of Justice.

I also conduct data protection training and speak at events and webinars.
