My main areas of practice
I specialise in Financial Regulation, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Services, Trust & Agency, Derivatives, Structured Finance, Export & Trade Finance, Islamic Finance and Distressed Debt and have extensive experience in these areas.

I advise my clients in German, English and French.

Personal engagement
I teach financial Supervisory Law at the Institute for Law and Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.

My background
I studied law in Bonn, Toulouse, Hamburg and Bristol. I received my doctorate from the University of Hamburg and an LL.M. from the University of Bristol. I completed my legal traineeship in Hamburg, Bonn and Brussels.

I was admitted to the bar in 1997 and have been practising law in Frankfurt and London ever since.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I worked at other internationally recognised law firms.

On 25 September 2018, the Berlin Court of Appeal (4th Criminal Senate) ruled that Bitcoins are not considered units of account within the meaning of the German Banking Act ("KWG"), nor are they considered e-money within the meaning of the German Payment Services Supervision Act ("ZAG").
